First Data and CAPITAL Card Announce Processing
Agreement
Sept. 2, 2003
OMAHA, NEB – First
Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), a global leader in electronic
commerce and payment services, and CAPITAL Card Services
Inc. (CAPITAL), a leader in portfolio management and
card outsourcing solutions based in Sioux Falls, South
Dakota, today announced a multi-year agreement. Under
the agreement, First Data will provide full bankcard
processing services for the company’s half million
credit cards on file.
First Data will provide transaction processing services, including authorization
of transactions, account management, statement printing and mailing and plastic
issuance through its operations in Omaha, Neb.
“ We are pleased to begin work with First Data directly so that we can
take advantage of the full scope of products and services they offer,” said
Jeff Aegerter, president and chief executive officer for CAPITAL. “We plan
to utilize First Data’s reformulated processing platform to reduce expenses
and to help our card issuing clients grow their portfolios more profitably.”
CAPITAL is familiar with the First Data system and will not need to convert
since its accounts already are on the system through another group provider. “This
allows us to hit the ground running in terms of implementing our growth strategies,” Aegerter
added.
“ This is a great opportunity for CAPITAL and we are pleased to bring them
on board directly as a group service provider,” said Tony Holzapfel, senior
vice president of client development for First Data. “We want to see them
capitalize on the flexibility and ease of access our new system delivers. ”
